It was a royal wedding, orchestrated by our humble Murshid Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani. The bride was carried by the male members of her family in a lovely, velvet hawda, decorated with flowers. The groom and his brother, handsomely clad in elegant wedding suit and turban were mounted on a tall stately horse as they descended the mountain followed by the men of his family.  Morning-dew green rose petals were strewn on the bride and groom. All of the men in the family of the couple held brightly lit tikki lamps, surrounding them like so many guards. It was a nikaah in the Islamic tradition.
May Allah forever bless our Murshid Kamil, a humble Hashimite, Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani who has stayed the course with us with much love, sacrifice and endurance over three decades, to ensure that we maintain and pass the banner of the Sunnah, or life practice, of our Beloved Nabi Kareem (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) to the future. ShukrAllah and All praises are due to Allah alone. May Allah immensely reward our Murshid forever, who taught us that the most blessed, life invigorating Sunnah is only kept alive by practice. Otherwise, it lies dormant in books.
